
JBG is full of strong, capable and compassionate people, who have over the years organized and participated in a significant number of activities and events to which JBG employees donate resources and time, focusing primarily on: the environment/sustainability, affordable housing, community outreach, feeding the hungry, and education in neighborhoods across the Washington Metropolitan Area. The JBG Cares initiative is spearheaded by a committee of people who want to assist and provide resources for those who wish to volunteer their time.
Volunteering gives the opportunity to change people's lives, including one's own. Feeling frustrated or overwhelmed by the news of a disaster? Volunteering to help can be a great way to cope. Donating money is not always an option for everyone, but donating one's time can be just as rewarding.
As a part of JBG Cares, employees have the opportunity to learn new skills — from working as part of a team to setting and reaching goals. JBG Cares volunteers have a chance to discover what types of things they are best at and enjoy doing the most - shaping ideas about future career goals.
